We will employ high-school mathematics and physics to study climate. From the energy conservation law, it follows that in the equilibrium state the energy outgoing from Earth must be equal to the energy incoming from Sun. We will discuss the energy balance of Earth, derive the corresponding equations, and estimate the average temperature of the Earth's surface. We will study the influence of the greenhouse effect on this temperature and briefly discuss more sophisticated climate models.

Vojtěch Pravda se zabývá obecnou teorií relativity. V tomto oboru publikoval řadu článků v odborných mezinárodních časopisech. Od roku 2014 je vedoucím oddělení Algebry, geometrie a matematické fyziky v Matematickém ústavu AV ČR.
